Extended training
This is an introductory programme for healthcare professionals (HCP) who have been/ will be involved in the consenting of patients for genomic testing and the requesting of genomic tests. The programme is in line with the Health Education England Genomics Education Programme (HEE GEP) competency framework.
Consent
An appropriate discussion of genomic testing and the possible implications for a patient and their family members must take place before any genomic testing is requested, other than certain (non whole genome sequencing (WGS)) tests on cancer tissue.
